stayinjogja--Sometimes, when you feel hungry and unfortunately just have a cents (less then IDR 10,000) in your wallet and still need to go somewhere with public bus, what will you do?

I have a suggestion, you can go to some place call angkringan (you can find what place is that in http://jogjakakilimafoods.blogspot.com) and take some pack rice known as nasi kucing (cat's rice). Is that really rice for cat? No, of course.

We call nasi kucing because it contain one grab of rice-you can measure with your hand grab- and with fried tiny sea fish.

Dawet Sambel

A few days ago i had found new meal in jogja. They call Dawet Sambel.

Dawet (food with green color in image) originally made from fluor and served with coconut milk, red sugar and have a green color.

But, dawet which i found is different. They have same ingredients (for dawet) but have a different served style.

Dawet Sambel served with slice of tofu, red sugar and....PECEL SAUCE (made from grilled peanut). You can feel sweet, mild, and salty. It's amazing.

We start from jogja at 04.30 am, we face increasing road, many land slide path (rain still drop from last night). After 1 hour we arrive to traditional market, after ask many people we had met with Mbok Ponirah (1 from 4 Dawet Sambel Seller which still exist).

stayinjogja--A few years ago, when stayed in jakarta i had some friends which come from bandung (still in java island). When i want to went home to jogja i asked him,'Do you want some souvenir from jogja?'. He asked me,'Do you want to go to Jawa?'.

It's amazing for me, because jakarta still in java island, bandung still in java island but many people who stayed and lived there said if they want to go to Jogja, Semarang, Surabaya, and other place in Central Java and East Java territory they will said, "Go home to Java".

Warung Makan (Place To Eat-Street Vendor)

Beside have large restaurant, jogja have more than hundreds place to eat known as warung. There is many kind of warung, if they sell fried/grill chicken we call "WARUNG AYAM BAKAR/GORENG" (fried chicken warung), if they sell fried rice we call "WARUNG NASI GORENG" (Fried Rice Warung).

For some food and drink that you order you will charge from Rp 5.000,- until Rp 15.000,-. This was very cheap for students in jogja. Yes---their price are cheap but many of them didn't provide for clean dish,fork,spoon or place.
They just put dish,fork,spoon to the water without soap.

I have a rumor that if some place like warung have some "mystique guard" to call the customer back again.

They are work to the bakery to sell many bread to the customer at jogja. They can reach more than 10 km from the bakery to cycle that bread cart. But sometimes they will stop for long time at front of Hospital or doctor, why? Because (in my opinion) if patient wait for the doctor call some of their company will bored and they will came out and do something like buy some bread.
